Ed Sheeran travel warning as fans face Hampden chaos & will be forced to walk for MILES
ED Sheeran fans are being warned there will be no trains from Mount Florida to Glasgow city centre following his Hampden gig.
Serial chart-topper Ed is set to perform at the national stadium in Glasgow tonight and Friday.
The singer's Mathematics tour will mark the first time he has performed in stadiums since his record-breaking Divide tour.
But gig-goers are being urged to plan ahead as there will be no services from Mount Florida to Central and Queen Street Stations after the concert.
A statement from ScotRail read: "If you’re going to Ed Sheeran
at Hampden Park this week plan your journeys in advance.
"ScotRail is adding extra carriages to as many trains as possible from Central to Mount Florida & Kings Park, the closest stations to Hampden, from midday until Ed Sheeran is due on stage.
"Buy tickets in advance via the mTicket system on the ScotRail app to reduce queues at Glasgow Central on the day.
"There will be no trains from Mount Florida to Central after the gigs due to the temporary timetable and only a few trains will run out of Glasgow city centre after 11pm."
The Thursday and Friday Glasgow rail timetable is as follows:
- 23:17 Glasgow Central to East Kilbride
- 23:22 Glasgow Central to Stirling
- 23:30 Glasgow Central to Ayr
- 23:45 Glasgow Queen St to Edinburgh Waverley
Glasgow City Council has also announced what roads around the venue will be closed for the concert.
